Frequently Asked Questions
Why decorative concrete?
As you can see there
are numerous reasons to choose decorative concrete. The main
is its beauty, versatility and durability. Natural materials are beautiful, but do not have the versatility and strength of decorative concrete. Pavers have versatility but lack beauty and strength. Decorative concrete is the only material that will give you the structural and aesthetic value of a quality surface.
If decorative concrete is such a high quality material then
isn't it more expensive?
This is a misconception. Compared to natural materials and pavers, decorative concrete is a bargain. Our sales and design team will work with you personally to design the perfect plan to fit your needs and budget. You can also inquire about our off-season work. During the winter our schedule slows down and we are often able to work up a better price to keep our schedule full. Use our Price Calculator. Use our Price Calculator.
Does all concrete crack?
Yes, all concrete does crack, but at Green Concrete we can generally determine where these cracks are going to occur. We make a stress cut design in the pattern that makes the crack almost imperceptible.
Is there maintenance involved in decorative concrete?
Like all things, care increases longevity. Your decorative concrete surface requires little maintenance. A quick rinse with a hose will bring back the original luster to the surface. For high traffic areas additional coats of our special professional industrial sealer can be applied, but this is rarely needed until after the first 5 years.
How long does the process take?
This depends on size and complexity of your design. Generally from the start date to the time you can be enjoying your space is about 10 to 14 days. New concrete requires approximately 30 days to cure, and our experience tells us to allow an additional 2 to 5 days before sealing to ensure the longest longevity. We want your end result to be a lasting result!
